About Us

Hueco Tanks State Historical Park is a climber's paradise, located 45 minutes from Downtown El Paso, TX. The park has an incredible variety of climbing, from long, multi-pitch routes to shorter sport routes, but the park is most known today for its abundance of high quality boulder problems.

In the fall of 2007, the Mushroom Boulder was closed to climbing and the local climbing community realized there were no organizations in place to communicate with the park about this closure. As a result, in the spring of 2008 the Climbers of Hueco Tanks Coaltion was formed. The continued popularity of Hueco Tanks on a national and international level has caused an anuual increase of climbing traffic. The Climbers of Hueco Tanks Coaltion wants to ensure the climbing at Hueco Tanks will continue and help resolve conflicts that may arise.

The Climbers of Hueco Tanks is a 501(c) 3 organization. All contributions to this organization are tax deductible. This organization is run by volunteers.
